Italian people often use the informal 2nd person pronoun “TU”
when addressing people. This casual form of address may, however,
sometimes sound too informal and therefore, in formal contexts or when
addressing people you do not know very well, it is advisable to use the
formal form “LEI,” until you are invited to do differently.
