BUON POMERIGGIO (once unknown to Italian people, this form has entered the language thanks to its being used on TV)

BUONASERA (late afternoon)

BUONANOTTE (after 8.00 p.m.)

                  

 

On leaving people

ARRIVEDERLA = goodbye

 ADDIO is lofty form of leave taking, with a definite final character

 BUONA GIORNATA / BUONA SERATA are forms used to wish someone a good day or evening respectively

 BUON DIVERIMENTO is used when you know that the person you are addressing will probably spend some time enjoying him/herself
