A bit of Etiquette In the restaurant
There is no preclusion for women alone in public
restaurants.
The wine list is presented to the men
During a classy meal the men should always remember to
fill the women’s glass, if it is not being done by the waiter.
The men usually take care of the bill, it is given to
them and they pay it (except if there were prior arrangements made of it
is an informal occasion)
A tip is always left for the staff.
Hands should always be visible above the table, but not
the elbows.
One must not use bread to soak up any sauces left on
the plate (mopping up).
When the knife and fork are placed parallel to one
another, from the bottom right hand corner facing into the centre, it
shows that the person has finished eating. Whereas, when they are rested
on the side of the plate it shows a pause, but not the end of the meal.
