Every Italian town, big or small, has got its own patron
saint: Saint Peter in Rome, Saint Ambrogio in Milan, Saint John in Turin,
Saint Nicholas in Bari, Saint Mark in Venice ....
The Saint Patron's Day is a feast for the inhabitants of
that place: holiday at school, offices closed, solemn Mass at church,
procession, music band playing, sweet food stands, fairground rides,
dances or fireworks in the evening.
